CTOnews.com, September 15, how far is the nearest black hole from Earth? Astronomical data had previously been shown as Gaia BH1, 1566 light-years from Earth; the latest paper, published in the monthly Proceedings of the Royal Astronomical Society, shows that the distance has been shortened to 150 light-years.

Astronomers have observed that there may be several black holes in the open star cluster Hyades (Hyades). The Aldebaran cluster is located in the constellation Taurus, "only" 150 light-years from Earth, which can be said to be quite close on an astronomical scale.

Through observation and modeling, the team found that there are 2-3 black holes in the Aldebaran cluster. Stefano Torniamenti, lead author of the paper, explained: "our modeling matches the mass and size of the Aldebaran cluster and speculates that there will be a black hole in the center of the cluster."

Current simulations of the Hyades cluster show that there are at least three constant black holes in this cluster, and we have found only one of them. The remaining two may still be inside the cluster, or they may have become wandering black holes under the influence of gravitation. wandering aimlessly in the Milky way at the moment.
