From 2.29% in the same period last year to 10.13% this year, Tianma, the global overlord of the LTPS mobile phone era, took only one year. In the first half of 2023, Tianma's flexible OLED smartphone panel shipments ranked among the top three in the world and the second in China, and since this year there have been many reports that Tianma is expected to return to the "fruit chain."

Thanks to its strong product innovation and technology research and development strength, Tianma has developed from black and white screen to LTPS mobile phone screen, vehicle front-mounted display and instrument display, and its shipments have reached the first place in the world, successfully breaking the long-term monopoly of foreign display manufacturers and bringing users a more cost-effective choice. Today, Tianma continues to exert its strength on OLED screens, accelerating breakthroughs and gaining recognition from many users.

Both ends of supply and demand are working together, panel manufacturers and terminal brands go to each other in both directions

According to industry statistics, Tianma OLED shipments increased significantly. In the first half of 2023, the company's flexible AMOLED mobile phone shipments increased by more than 400% year-on-year, ranking third in the world and second in China, supporting flagship and high-end project launches of multiple brand customers. A variety of mobile phones, including Glory Magic5, OPPO Find X6 and other flagship phones, have chosen to cooperate with Tianma.

As a panel manufacturer, Tianma also continues to provide personalized services for customers. Through in-depth research with terminal brands, it has made significant breakthroughs in OLED R & D and mass production support. According to the 2023 semi-annual report, Tianma has achieved industry-leading mass production of PWM 3840Hz high frequency dimming, energy-saving low frequency LTPS, high brush 165Hz, lower narrow frame 1.0mm, micro-quad, LTPSRamless and many other new technologies, and launched a new generation of U8 luminescent materials to improve luminous efficiency, greatly reduce power consumption, prolong service life, further improve color cast problems, bring better image quality and longer battery life. At the same time, WQ HTD, HTD Ramless, The development of technologies such as equal-height four-song and CFOT has been smoothly promoted.

At the same time, in terms of supply, the cooperation between Tianma and flagship products of various brands not only reflects the upgrading of Tianma OLED shipment scale, but also highlights the further optimization of its OLED mobile phone product structure. It is worth mentioning that Tianma's latest flexible OLED production line TM18 has been lit up ahead of schedule and shipped to industry brand customers last year. According to Tianma's semi-annual report of 2023, TM18 production line has reached million-level mass production in a single month five months ahead of schedule in the first half of this year. By the end of this year, it will also have mass production capacity of folding, LTPO, MLP and other advanced technologies. The overall flexible AMOLED business has entered a comprehensive power generation period.

Boosting the high-end process of domestic OLED screen and showing China's scientific and technological strength again

Different from well-known overseas manufacturers, a number of domestic panel manufacturers represented by BOE and Tianma mainly focus on flexible OLED screens. Compared with overseas manufacturers, the advantages of domestic flexible OLED screens for users are narrower frames, smaller chins (COP packages), thinner thicknesses and lighter weights, so many manufacturers have turned to domestic manufacturers on new flagship products.

In terms of screen eye protection, which users worry about more, domestic OLED manufacturers have also optimized blue light and dimming technology. Among them, BOE, Tianma and other domestic head manufacturers have already owned high-frequency PWM technology, and in terms of the high-frequency numerical results tested by relevant institutions using a variety of models, the high-frequency dimming technology of BOE and Tianma up to 3840Hz has surpassed that of overseas manufacturers, which can bring users a more delicate and eye-protecting visual experience, thus helping manufacturers to improve their product experience and gain more recognition from consumers.

Overall, domestic OLED screen manufacturers have achieved great breakthroughs in screen brightness, color display, high-frequency PWM dimming, etc. with continuous technological innovation and accumulation in recent years, and their performance is surprising. With the continuous breakthrough of relevant technologies and the coordinated development of Tianma Wuhan G6 (TM17) and Xiamen G6 (TM18), it is expected that Tianma OLED mobile phone business will develop rapidly in the short term.
