CTOnews.com Sept. 15, Microsoft invited Windows Insider project members of Canary and Dev channels to test the new screenshot tool as well as the new Windows Photo (Windows Photos) application.

This update mainly introduces the virtual background, enhanced search function, support for dynamic photos, and so on. New features are attached to CTOnews.com as follows:

Virtual background: after opening the photo, you can enable the "Background Blur" option in edit mode. The Windows photo application will automatically calculate the main body of the picture and enhance the main body by virtual background.

You can also customize the effect by adjusting the blur intensity, or use the Brush tool to modify the blurred area.

Improved search for photos stored in an OneDrive (family or personal) account, you can now quickly find the photos you are looking for based on the contents of the photos.

After logging in to the Microsoft account, click on the OneDrive Personal section, and then enter what you are looking for in the top search bar, such as car, beach, birthday, vacation, etc.

You can also find photos according to where they were taken. This feature applies to all photos in your collection, including photos stored in the file system, OneDrive, and iCloud.

The new version of Motion Photos supports viewing Motion Photos photos taken on Samsung and Google devices.

Other fixes:

According to the feedback from the community, we have updated the upsampling logic so that the image is no longer pixel-oriented when the larger coefficient is enlarged.

Restore support for touch control in slide view. Swipe left and right to easily navigate to the next photo in the slide show.

Edit and create video options are easily accessible at the top of the gallery view.

Fixed an issue where you had to restart the application to start displaying iCloud photos.
