CTOnews.com September 14 news, Pengcheng Laboratory announced that recently, led by Pengcheng Lab, the "prototype system and Test Environment for 6G Wireless High Speed access (EAGLE 6G)" jointly built by Beijing University of posts and Telecommunications, University of Electronic Science and Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, etc., has made phased progress, and the wireless test rate has been further raised to 800Gbps (100GB/s), setting a new industry record again.

According to reports, in order to break through 6G technology and seize the first opportunity of 6G standardization, the Broadband Communications Research Department of Pengcheng Laboratory took the lead in deploying and building EAGLE 6G test environment, and had the real business testing capability of 400Gbps in June 2022.

Facing the massive bandwidth demand of 6G immersive communication, the laboratory research team continued to tackle key problems on the basis of the existing achievements, and put forward a variety of strategies such as power control and link balanced scheduling, which significantly improved the overall utilization of heterogeneous links while reducing the power consumption of base stations, and further improved the aggregation networking and testing capabilities of EAGLE 6G to 800Gbps. It can meet the requirements of hundreds of Gbps or even Tbps communication rates for future 6G core applications, such as holographic all-inductive communication, immersive communication, extended reality, bee swarm communication and so on.

At the same time, the pooling sharing and security isolation are realized through innovative virtualization technology in the test resources, which greatly improves the efficiency of the hardware resources of the test system and enhances the system security in multi-user parallel testing.

The research team said that 800Gbps's EAGLE 6G can not only cover the testing requirements of 6G immersive communication services in the future, but also support the test and evaluation of 6G new wireless air port technology, provide an effective testing and verification environment for 6G basic technology, basic devices, basic software, etc., and lay the foundation for the comprehensive construction of Pengcheng Hongyan, a large scientific device of communication network.

Pengcheng Lab also said that the research team will continue to tackle key technologies, strive to achieve technological breakthroughs, further enhance the testing capability of EAGLE 6G to 1Tbps, integrate the testing and verification capabilities of 6G key technologies such as communication and perception integration, and promote 6G candidate technology evaluation and international standardization.
