CTOnews.com, September 14 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft has announced that it will stop supporting the original Surface Duo, but this does not mean the life of the phone is over. The DuoWOA team recently released a new driver to improve the experience of running Windows.

This driver update focuses on fixing many problems with audio peripherals, adding support for Surface Thunderbolt 4 Dock, improving UEFI and so on.

CTOnews.com attached the driver update log as follows:

Update the system firmware installation package for the original Surface Duo to the latest version provided by Microsoft.

Fixed damage to audio peripherals such as microphones or Bluetooth speakers in Win10 Version 2004 or earlier.

Support for Surface Thunderbolt (TM) 4 Docking accessories is enabled.

Follow-up work will focus on improving WCOS, and there is nothing to share at this stage.

(UEFI tuning) fixed an update that caused the system to crash or failed to boot after installing an update that mitigated blacklotus in Win11 Moment 2 + 3 update.

(UEFI tuning) fixed an issue where the UEFI environment might not boot in Win10 Version 1809 and earlier

Regular system stability improvement to enhance user experience

For second-generation Surface Duo, there is no new content, Surface Duo 2 is still a proof of concept (PoC), do not expect too much.

This update has also released a ready-to-go / made dual boot image for Surface Duo 1 / made 2. If you plan to refresh your machine, please refer to the official release notes.
