CTOnews.com Sept. 14, Microsoft Leslie Richardson today issued a press release announcing that the .NET 8 platform is in the candidate release stage, and the official version will be announced at the .NET Conf 2023 on November 14-16, 2023.

.net 8 will release two candidate versions, and today's release of RC1 introduces a new AOT model for Android and WASM, improves System.Text.Json, and adds Azure Managed Identity support to containers.

The RC1 version brings many quality improvements to the .NET MAUI, fixes memory leaks and many platform-specific problems, improves UI control and optimizes performance, and supports Apple Xcode 15 on Mac.

CTOnews.com learned from the press release that .NET 8 is a long-term support (LTS) version that will be supported for 3 years.
