CTOnews.com Sept. 14, Corel recently released WinZip 28, which brings two major changes, one is the redesigned home screen, and the other is the ability to scan compressed files for malware.

WinZip 28 further enhances existing tools such as WinZip Courier and WinZip SafeShare to optimize the overall layout on the new home screen, making it easy for users to access help and support. WinZip 28 also adds optional intra-app ratings and surveys to encourage users to submit feedback.

WinZip 28 also introduces a new option that allows users to scan before unzipping files in Zip format to confirm that the files carry malware and prevent extortion software and other malware from entering the user's computer.

CTOnews.com also learned from the report that the new version also enhanced the WinZip Secure Backup tool, but only for professional and enterprise editions, users only need to right-click the folder to make backups.
