CTOnews.com September 14 news, according to foreign science and technology media MacRumors reports, through in-depth mining of iOS / iPadOS 17 RC version of the code, confirmed that iPhone 15 Pro series models can be recorded in ProRes video, can be directly stored in external devices.

CTOnews.com encloses Apple's official press release as follows: "ProRes videos can be recorded directly to external storage devices, supporting recording options up to 4K 60 fps and providing greater flexibility for filming sites using iPhone as the primary photography device."

The code of deep mining shows that recording directly to an external storage device supports 2.8K 60 fps in addition to the 4K 60 fps option. However, the code shows that external storage devices must be formatted in exFAT or APFS format, but no requirements for connection speed of external storage devices have been found.

The iPhone 14 Pro model supports ProRes 2.8K and 4K, but is limited to 30 frames per second and does not allow recording directly to the storage device.
