At the end of July, Samsung released a new generation of folding screen phones, which have previously brought you the evaluation of Galaxy   Z   Flip5, while Galaxy   Z   Fold5 I got it relatively late and experienced it for a long time, so I think you have seen the relevant reviews, so today I would like to share with you some of my personal concerns and details of the experience.

First of all, the newly upgraded super-closed Seiko hinge, as one of the core parts of folding screen phones, has a great impact on our daily experience, after all, it has to be opened and closed dozens of times a day.

I personally like the Galaxy   Z   Fold5 hinge opening and closing texture, from closing to opening is very tight, with a very uniform sense of damping, the resistance in the whole process is very much to my taste, there is no kind of softer in the first half or behind, or to a certain angle will directly "pop off" the situation.

And can accurately hover at almost any angle, very stable, when taking photos or watching video in vertical interactive mode, it will not change the hovering angle because of clicking, which I think is very good.

Of course, a major feature of the new hinge is that it can achieve "seamless folding", which does have obvious changes compared with the previous generation, but the gap can still be seen in the light. This is because, in order to better protect the folded screen, Samsung has added a certain supporting plastic gasket around the inner screen.

As the gap becomes smaller after folding, the overall thickness of the fuselage has been reduced to a certain extent, about 2mm, and the thickness of the whole machine is more uniform, coupled with a weight reduction of 10g, the grip feel has been improved. However, it is still not very light and thin, compared to the thickness rushed into the 1cm domestic folding screen, it will still give people a kind of thick feeling.

The second point is about the outer screen. I said when I experienced the folding screen of other brands before, in fact, for me, the use time of the outer screen and the inner screen accounts for about 8:2, and the experience of the outer screen is very important.

Samsung has always maintained a slender tradition, and this generation of Galaxy   Z   Fold5 is still the same, and should be the "thinnest" of its kind. In this way, the biggest advantage is that it is very convenient to operate with one hand, and even users with relatively small hands can be controlled with one hand, which I think is still very good.

The outer screen has a high quality, such as high refresh rate, high brightness and so on, which is more unified with the inner screen. Whether it's watching video or playing games, the experience is good. Even if it doesn't expand, it's okay to use it as an "ordinary" mobile phone.

The third point about image bar, from the parameter point of view, Galaxy   Z   Fold5 is equipped with 5000 megapixel camera (Samsung S5KGN3 Lexi 1.56 inch) + 1200 megapixel ultra-wide angle (IMX   258 minus 1pm 3.06in) + 1000 megapixel 3 × telephoto (Samsung S5K3K1LI 1x3.94in), and does not use S23U that set of more top-level configuration. This is also a common problem of folding screen mobile phones at present. Limited by the internal space and weight of the fuselage, it is impossible to achieve the extreme in the image.

I am personally satisfied with the actual imaging effect. In an environment with sufficient light, the main photography and telephoto are mainly based on restoring reality, while making certain optimizations. The scale is grasped very well, and the color is more eye-catching. Especially when shooting scenes like flowers and food.

The focus is on the dark light scene, the main shot is very stable, and the color part and the details of the highlights and dark parts are well restored, which is very close to what I really see.

The color of telephoto lenses is as good as shading, but subject to the size of the sensor, if you zoom in, you will still have a sense of smear and noise in the dark. It can only be said that Samsung's algorithm is really strong, but it can not make up for the lack of hardware in some scenarios.

The fourth is system interaction. Here I mainly talk about two things that I prefer. One is to split the screen, left and right split the screen is actually quite conventional, equivalent to dividing the phone into two, talking about Wechat, while shopping or browsing the news and so on.

What I prefer is the upper and lower screens, so that you can watch videos while playing games, and even exhale a small window to temporarily reply to Wechat or simply co-exist three windows. The experience is still very good, and the playability is very strong. You can develop it yourself. The only small problem is that watching videos while playing games is really cool, but the phone is still a little heavy and a little tired after playing for a long time.

Then there is the taskbar at the bottom, which Samsung added in the previous generation to make the system layout more like PC, while this generation will increase the number of recently opened applications to four, which is very convenient for us to switch between several programs, and is one of my personal favorite features.

However, there is a small problem with this part of the system, that is, even if automatic rotation is enabled, it will not be rotated adaptively in most applications. Even for video APP, you have to click on the video to achieve rotation, which is not very active. In contrast, the other products I used before will rotate very well, no matter in which direction you pick up the phone, the picture is always positive, and the user is more flexible to hold it. I hope Samsung can make this piece fit better in the future.

The fifth point is the crease, which is an inescapable point for folding screen phones at present. Let's talk about the conclusion first. You can see it and you can touch it. Although the name varies, Galaxy   Z   Fold5 and many current product manufacturers, let the inner screen exist in the form of "water droplets" after folding, but its "water droplets" should be relatively small, and the crease is narrower than the Mate   X3 I used before, but it will be deeper.

The sudden frustration is more obvious when you touch it, and you can clearly observe it, but the good news is that it is not in the high-frequency touch area, and you won't touch it too often.

Although everyone is working hard to optimize the crease problem, it is still impossible to eliminate it so that it can be seen and touched without feeling at present. No matter which folding screen you want to buy, you are advised to go to the physical store and touch it yourself to see if you can accept the crease problem.

Finally, there is an One   more   thing, and Samsung has launched a series of "Samsung Eco-Friends" accessories, all of which use renewable materials to convey the concept of environmental protection, including accessories such as protective housings. Its design inspiration comes from world-famous characters and works of art. I got this inspiration from the representative work of the new American pop artist Keith   Haring. The exaggerated and brightly colored "villain" is very dynamic and has a lot of personality.

And this protective shell will also have matching themes for us to download, which is more interesting to use, not only the lock screen and wallpaper of the inner and outer screens, but also the repainted icons, which can be said very carefully.

Of course, as a protective shell, it provides all-round protection for Galaxy   Z   Fold5. The four sides are wrapped very tightly, and the bulge of the outer screen can effectively prevent the broken screen caused by falling.

As a folding screen phone, I think I am satisfied with the performance of Galaxy   Z   Fold5, which has bright spots in hinge texture, screen quality, image and system interaction. However, it is a little conservative in some places, and it needs to be improved and optimized later, such as the folded gap, the configuration of the image system, the system adaptation, the thickness and weight of the fuselage and so on. As one of the earliest manufacturers of folding screen phones, Samsung has a very good basic market in this market, especially in overseas markets, so unlike other domestic manufacturers, they are more likely to seek solid improvement in their products, bit by bit, but I think, with the increasingly fierce competition in the market, Samsung can be more aggressive in its products.
