Sony says the technology reduces the contrast between the images restored by the LED display and the real scenes in which the actors are located-blending the virtual background with the real scene in a real and natural way, helping the team save time and cost in post-production.

In addition, the VP series also has a high brightness of 1500cd / m2 and a gamut of 97% DCI-P3 coverage. The series also uses a LED driver chip to achieve a high refresh rate of the highest 7680Hz, thereby reducing scan line artifacts on the camera. The pixel spacing of ZRD-VP15EB / 15EM and ZRD-VP23EB / 23EM is P1.56mm and P2.31mm, respectively.

Sony says the new display is compatible with mainstream high-end controllers in the industry. ZRD-VP15EB / 23EB adapts to Brompton Technology's Tessera SX40 video processor, while ZRD-VP15 EM / 23EM adapts to Megapixel's HELIOS processing system.

The VP series also uses a design to reduce power consumption. Compared with the current model ZRD-B15A, the new model ZRD-VP15EB reduces power consumption by about 27%.

In other improvements, the VP series features a new 1:1 proportional box with a large handle, positioning pin and quick locking mechanism, allowing installers to quickly assemble a display screen that matches the size of the stage.

Sony said that the VP series is not only suitable for arc, hoisting and seat installation, but also has a stronger frame, which can build a screen up to 7 meters high through seat mounting, and effectively protect the surface and edge of the LED through surface treatment technology and a variety of protection mechanisms to reduce damage during installation.

CTOnews.com learned from Sony's official press release that new models of the Crystal LED black-color crystal VP series of displays are scheduled to go on sale in the spring of 2024.
