CTOnews.com, September 13 (Xinhua)-- Apple's new iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max still come with a physical SIM tray (outside the United States). Rumored European models that only support eSIM do not appear.

Apple's website confirmed that all four iPhone 15 models are still compatible with nano-SIM cards in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Singapore and Turkey; and eSIM is supported in most countries.

Apple also mentioned that although the phone supports SIM dual card dual standby, only some operators currently support dual VoLTE. And need to comply with specific restrictions.

In fact, Apple has removed SIM trays from all American versions of iPhone 14 since last year, forcing users to use eSIM. At the time, Apple advertised that eSIM cards were more secure than physical SIM cards because they could not be removed from lost or stolen iPhone.

Apple also said that users can manage up to eight eSIM cards in iPhone settings to avoid acquiring, carrying and swapping physical SIM cards while traveling. However, Apple's iPhone 13 and newer models can only activate up to two eSIM at the same time.

CTOnews.com noted that Apple also provided a support document listing operators around the world that support eSIM technology, including multiple operators in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
