The new CineAltaB movie camera is equipped with an 8.6K full-frame sensor, with dual native ISO (800max 3200) and 16 file width, which can calmly deal with very strong or weak light environment, showing a cinematic picture. Sony introduced AI smart chips that support subject recognition into CineAltaB to develop innovative fast hybrid autofocus functions that provide a more efficient focus solution when shooting objects such as irregular or high-speed motion. At the same time, the new product supports PL lens bayonet and E bayonet lens group, and uses thinner electronically variable ND filter and optical anti-shake structure in the compact body, becoming Sony's first digital movie camera that supports both PL bayonet lens and built-in anti-shake system.

Sony CineAltaB movie cameras can not only match the CineAlta V series with the same process operation logic, easily assist the large-scale creation of the film team, but also meet the challenging shooting needs of individual and small teams, greatly improving the production efficiency of projects such as film and television dramas, documentaries and commercials.

Advanced 8.6k full-frame sensor

The CineAltaB is equipped with an 8.6K full-frame sensor, dual native ISO of ISO 800 and ISO 3200, and 16 file widths to provide excellent image quality. Like Sonny's full-frame 8K movie camera CineAltaV 2, CineAltaB can be recorded in full frame and Super 35mm format, shooting up to 8K 30p, 6K 60p or 4K 120p, and can be switched freely according to creative needs. CineAltaB can be equipped with more than 70 E-bayonet lenses, which can not only reduce the weight and volume of the whole system, but also achieve excellent anti-shake function. Low-illumination or high-speed sports scenes are thorny problems for focal attendants. The new product uses AI intelligent chip to support a variety of subject identification to achieve high-precision autofocus. Moreover, CineAltaB combines the advantages of phase and contrast detection to realize fast hybrid autofocus. The functions of touch focus and touch tracking allow users to set the focus object by touching the LCD display screen, which greatly improves the shooting efficiency and makes it possible for individual operation.

The CineAltaB is Sony's first digital movie camera with a PL port and a built-in anti-shake system. Sony CineAltaB Movie cameras can record videos ranging from HD to 8K depending on resolution, aspect ratio and encoding format. The new product supports a variety of internal recording formats, such as the new XAVC H ™format with MPEG-H HEVC / H.265 high compression rate codec for 8K video shooting. Other recording formats include XAVC and X-OCN (LT). X-OCN is Sony's original compressed RAW format, which can capture information shot with 16-Bit color depth data, providing filmmakers with more freedom in later color blending. X-OCN (LT) reduces file transfer time and storage space, making the post-production process more efficient than the standard version of RAW data.

The CineAltaB is also equipped with two VPG400-certified CFexpress Type B memory card slots to support high bit rate video data writing, including X-OCN (LT) 8K.

A rich and efficient creative ecosystem

CineAltaB movie cameras support multiple Log recording modes, including S-Gamut3 and S-Gamut.Cine, which cover a gamut that exceeds that of BT.2020 and DCI-P3.

The new CineAltaB also has four new color appearances: Warm, Cool, Vintage and Teal and Orange, which support industry standards s709 and 709800 LUT to help users adopt different monitoring modes when shooting and improve production efficiency. Users can also use SD cards to import custom LUT for more accurate exposure and color control during shooting, reducing the time required for post-production.

In addition, like the CineAltaV series, CineAltaB can be made virtually using large screens such as the Crystal LED black crystal series. CineAltaB has the function of gen-lock synchronous phase lock.

A more compact and ergonomic design

CineAltaB has a compact body, is about 30% smaller than CineAltaV 2, reduces weight by about 1.45kg, and has high mobility.
