CTOnews.com, September 12 (Xinhua)-- it has been reported that Apple will launch a new "FineWoven" Apple Watch fabric strap, which is made of artificial materials. Unlike previous leather straps, pictures of the new strap have been exposed for the first time.

The pictures come from prototype collector and whistleblower Kosutami, who called the strap very thin and smooth. Apple may have chosen these materials to appear environmentally friendly and to reduce its carbon footprint by using fabric-based leather substitutes.

Kosutami also claims that the strap also has a splash-proof coating, but it is not completely waterproof. He also revealed that Apple has designed six colors for the FineWoven watch strap, but only three of them will be released at today's special event, the exact color is not clear.

Kosutami also clarified that the FineWoven strap would be produced by the same manufacturer as the Apple Watch Ultra strap and that the material was said to be from Japan.

Earlier, there were rumors that Apple would no longer offer iPhone leather phone cases, planned to stop production of all silicone accessories, and planned to launch iPhone protective cases made of artificial leather under the same "FineWoven" name.
