CTOnews.com Sept. 12, Sony today announced a free firmware upgrade for the full-picture movie camera ILME-FX3 and Super 35mm movie camera ILME-FX30, corresponding to Ver.4.00 (for ILME-FX3) and Ver.3.00 (for ILME-FX30 and ILME-FX30B), respectively.

According to reports, the firmware upgrade adds support for Monitor & Control applications and further strengthens the stability of the operation.

Sony said the free app Monitor & Control allows video creators to wirelessly connect to Sony cameras via smartphones or tablet devices for screen monitoring and mobile controls such as high-precision exposure adjustment and focus control using false color and waveform monitors, providing creators with a better mobile app experience.

Two firmware upgrades add major features:

-added support for Monitor & Control applications.

-improves the operational stability of the camera.
