CTOnews.com Sept. 12, Hisense Reader A9 is an ink screen phone with custom Android, Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor and support for up to 8GB + 256GB storage space.

According to the latest news from the XDA forum, the ink screen phone has been unlocked by unofficial bootloader, and users can later gain root access and browse into other Android systems.

Note that unlocking bootloader may cause Hisense Reader phone A9 to enter EDL (emergency download) mode, which is commonly known as 9008 mode, which requires the use of EDL engineering lines to "save bricks".

The original Hisense Reader phone A9 runs Android 11, has a highly customized user interface and supports third-party applications, and is not equipped with Google Play stores or other enabled Google mobile services.
