Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, September 11, according to the official website of Ida Cruise, the speed, maneuverability test and vibration and noise test of the second trial of China's first large cruise ship "Ida Mudu" have all been completed. The shipowner inspection will make a final verification of the test data and will sign to certify the approval of the test results after confirmation.

The director of the second Department of China Shipbuilding Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Assembly focused on the 5G technology carried by the ship. In the past, the ship used satellite Internet access, the signal was unstable and the cost was high, while the "Ida Mudu" applied 5G network technology, the whole ship covered the Wi-Fi deployed based on the 5G network, and passengers could get a network experience no less than that on land.

It is reported that Shanghai Telecom is mainly responsible for this set of 5G network technology, and relevant staff have deployed a lightweight 5G core network (5GC) on the ▲ "Ida Mudu" cruise ship to achieve local diversion, computing deployment and ultra-low delay capabilities, and save satellite return bandwidth.

At the same time, through the deployment of active pRRU equipment and passive distribution system, Shanghai Telecom improves the internal wireless network coverage of cruise ships and forms an end-to-end cruise 5G private network with lightweight 5GC. At present, Shanghai Telecom has completed the construction of indoor distribution system in hot areas on cruise ships.

Through the edge computing power, the shipboard lightweight 5GC will determine whether the application visited by tourists is local, and if so, it can be accessed at high speed through the 5G network and Wi-Fi network on the cruise ship, just like using the 5G network on land. If visitors visit public network applications, they need to be transmitted by satellite.

In addition, in order to better enhance the sea surface 5G network capacity and achieve ultra-remote coverage, Shanghai Telecom introduced 2.1GHz FDD 8T8R technology. Shanghai Telecom technicians claimed, "in the 2.1GHz intermediate frequency band, the 2T2R (2 antennas transmitting, 2 antennas receiving) or 4T4R (4 receiving and 4 receiving) technology commonly used on the base station side now uses 8T8R (8 transmissions and 8 receivers) technology, which undoubtedly makes the base station 'louder' and 'more sensitive', thus improving the communication ability between the base station and the mobile terminal."

According to CTOnews.com, the ▲ "Ida Mudu" cruise ship has a total length of 323.6 meters, a width of 37.2 meters, a height of 70 meters, a total tonnage of 135500 tons and a total tonnage of 2826 rooms, which can accommodate more than 6500 people. the ship uses electric propulsion engines for the first time and is equipped with five diesel engines for power generation, which is expected to be delivered by the end of 2023.
