CTOnews.com, September 10, Russian media Russia Today reported on the 9th local time, local technology giant Yandex said in an interview that the YandexGPT developed by the company has a greater future than the ChatGPT developed by US competitor OpenAI.

Dmitry Masyuk, head of Yandex's search and advertising technology business, said YandexGPT had been able to "steadily outperform" ChatGPT 3.5 in generating Russian content, even providing a better answer than ChatGPT 4.0 in many cases, adding that it would be "only a matter of time" for YandexGPT to compete with its US rivals.

Compared with Llama-2-7b, developed by Meta, YandexGPT can also generate "better answers", including the generation of English content. Dmitry Masyuk also said that the company is constantly evaluating the technological progress of its generative AI and ChatGPT.

It is difficult to compare the two systems, and they may have their own strengths. For example, if a neural network that can solve physics problems, write fairy tales and write letters to CEO is better in some ways and inferior in others, should the system as a whole say it is "better" or "worse"?
