CTOnews.com, 10 September, 12:30 today, China successfully launched the remote sensing satellite 40 from the Taiyuan Satellite launch Center using a long March 6 carrier rocket. The satellite entered the scheduled orbit smoothly, and the launch mission was a complete success.

According to reports, the remote sensing satellite 40 was developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd., the Fifth Academy of Aerospace Dongfanghong Satellite Co., Ltd., and is mainly used to carry out electromagnetic environment detection and related technical tests. This mission is the 487th flight of the long March series of carrier rockets.

The long March 6 modified carrier rocket was developed by the eighth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd. The rocket has a two-stage semi-configuration, and the first and second stages of the core use non-toxic and non-polluting liquid oxygen kerosene propellant, bundled with four 2-meter diameter two-stage solid booster. The 700 km sun synchronous orbit of the rocket has a carrying capacity of more than 4.5 tons.

The earliest can be traced back to the remote sensing satellite No. 1 approved by Shanghai Aerospace Technology Research Institute in February 1999. Remote sensing satellite 26 and its follow-up models are currently in use.
