CTOnews.com Sept. 9 news, Intel officially released a promotional video about the company's advanced packaging technology, unexpected appearance of the next generation of Xeon processors, which should be single-die Sierra Forest or Granite Rapids components.

"the video in this press release was re-uploaded on September 7, 2023, removing the accidentally exposed auxiliary footage (B-Roll) from the first version of the video," Intel later wrote in the article introduction.

CTOnews.com previously reported that the Sierra Forest E-Core series is similar to Granite Rapids and is based on Intel 3 process, with up to 144cores, but it should be noted that these are efficiency cores, and two SKU versions have been found.

The Sierra Forest will be available with 96core, 128core and 144core versions and support DDR5-5600 memory. These CPU support dual motherboard configuration, theoretically up to 288cores. Because SMT is disabled, each core will get only one thread.

Granite Rapids can be equipped with up to 56 cores. The SP model has 2 Compute Tiles with a total of 80 or 88 P cores, and there should be 3 Compute Tiles versions with a total of 120 or 132 P cores supporting 8-channel DDR5-6400 memory.

Granite Rapids is expected to launch in the first half of 2024.
