CTOnews.com Sept. 9, at the recent Technology Conference Citi conference, Intel Chief Financial Officer David Zinsner (Davis Zinsner) said that the company has not fully overcome the difficulties encountered in the server sector at this stage, but firmly believes that the company's position in this area will stabilize next year and will turn to growth.

Zinsner said that while Sapphire Rapids Xeon processors are excellent, they can't meet the needs of all customers in terms of total cost of ownership, and for that reason, Intel is preparing to announce new products.

Zinsner said the introduction of the Emerald Rapids processor by the end of the year would be "a step in the right direction".

CTOnews.com has previously reported that Emerald Rapids will use Raptor Cove cores and Intel 7 process nodes. The IPC improvement of Raptor Cove is lower than that of Golden Cove, and the expected performance improvement is not significant.

Emerald Rapids will provide 64 cores and 128 threads, 320MB cache, support DDR5-5600 memory, up to 80 PCIe Gen5 channels.

Zinsner said that Intel will launch Sierra Forest and Granite Rapids processors using Intel 3 technology next year, marking a turning point in product performance and allowing Intel to really strengthen its position in the server market.
