CTOnews.com Mark Gurman revealed today that Apple plans to bring USB-C ports to AirPods and AirPods Max as early as 2024.

Gulman said the company is clearly working to convert all of its Lightning-based accessories to USB-C connectors. Among them, AirPods Pro will be the first to switch to a new interface, which will be launched with the iPhone 15 series at Apple's launch event on September 13. Other AirPods models will follow, and will launch as soon as next year.

Unfortunately, Gulman said the new AirPods Pro won't offer "any other major new hardware updates." In the long run, Apple plans to bring health features to its AirPods, including body temperature measurements, hearing tests and other features, and these upgrades may be implemented at some point in the future after the entire product line switches to USB-C.

CTOnews.com previously reported that the AirPods Pro, currently on sale, was released in September last year, supporting personalized spatial audio for dynamic head tracking, active noise reduction and adaptive transparency mode, supporting 6 hours of single-charge listening time, and equipped with MagSafe charging case with speaker and lanyard hole.
