This also means that after a long trough in the industry, the market for memory chips is about to meet the dawn.

Earlier, it was reported that Samsung had ordered a moratorium on quotations for sixth-generation V-NAND mature process products and a complete suspension of shipments for those below $1.60. The supply chain also confirmed that Samsung took the lead in raising the price of NAND Flash under the benefit of reduced production. Recently, the lowest price of 512Gb particles was $1.40, and the spot price was even $2.00. In less than a month, the spot price rebounded by nearly 40%.

Market research institute TrendForce also pointed out in a recent report that the recent NAND Flash spot market particle quotation was driven by the news of a successful increase in the wafer contract price, and some items showed more active demand for inquiry.

At the same time, in late August, the original NAND Flash factory further negotiated a new wafer order with some Chinese index module factories, and successfully raised the contract price of 512Gb wafers, an increase of about 10%. Other original factories also followed up to raise the prices of similar products, showing that the original factory is no longer willing to close a deal at a low price, thus driving a short-term rise in the spot wafer market recently.

Founder Securities pointed out that the current supply side to accelerate contraction, limit low-cost supply, and further consolidate the increase in memory chips. Analysts predict that with the launch of new products by domestic mobile phone brands in the second half of 2023, the recovery of PC demand and the upcoming release of iPhone15, the pressure on shipments from the original factory will gradually ease and the NAND Flash adjustment cycle will come to an end. The cold wind of the storage industry is gone, and a new round of spring is about to be harvested.
