CTOnews.com September 8 news, SAIC General Motors announced that Buick ELECTRA E5 model today ushered in the first OTA update, version code V2.2, official said that there have been more than 12,000 owners since the launch.

According to introduction, this OTA upgrade ushered in a brand-new voice engine:

Wake-up response speed 0.3 seconds, first word screen time 0.8 seconds, interaction speed 1.2 seconds, continuous interaction fastest can be completed in 25 seconds 10 consecutive voice commands.

The voice interaction function enables dual-tone recognition, which can distinguish the voice command of the main driver or the co-driver. The system can give corresponding answer or operation for the wake-up position.

Power-on logic changes:

When carrying iKey mobile phone key or swiping NFC card to enter the vehicle, the power-on logic is updated from closing the door to stepping on the brake to avoid automatic power-on of the vehicle when temporarily unlocking and taking items.

iKey mobile key experience optimization, physical keys are also under development:

Enhance Bluetooth detection signal, optimize detection area, optimize Bluetooth key connection speed.

Optimization of locking function:

In the case of NFC card unlocking vehicle, it will not automatically lock after leaving the vehicle; in the case of Bluetooth key unlocking vehicle, it will automatically lock after leaving the vehicle with Bluetooth key by default.

CTOnews.com learned from SAIC GM official that this OTA push will be pushed in batches through cloud OTA for six consecutive times from September 11,2023. It can be updated without going to the store and getting on the bus. It is applicable to Buick ELECTRA E5 Smart Edition and Enjoy Edition models.
