The report said that in August this year, the average price of power batteries in China (all in RMB) fell below 0.6 yuan / Wh, while the average prices of square ternary batteries for vehicles, iron-lithium batteries and soft-wrapped ternary power cells fell by 10 percent to 0.65 yuan / Wh, 0.59 yuan / Wh and 0.70 yuan / Wh respectively.

In terms of consumer batteries, the consumer electronics market demand was weak in August, and battery manufacturers mainly digested inventory. CTOnews.com cited TrendForce consulting survey, the current lithium salt and cobalt tetroxide prices have not stopped the downward trend, battery manufacturers have a low willingness to prepare goods, mainly to maintain stable production, lithium cobalt cell prices are expected to continue to decline in September.

Weak demand in the power and energy storage markets has kept the price of lithium salt falling, with the average price of battery-grade lithium carbonate about 230000 yuan / ton in August, a monthly drop of 20 per cent. At present, the price of battery-grade lithium carbonate is still falling, afraid to fall below 200000 yuan / ton, the buyer's purchasing attitude is expected to be more cautious, and may continue to wait and see whether there is the possibility of further decline.
