CTOnews.com Sept. 8, Microsoft recently announced that Outlook REST API v2.0 will be discontinued on March 31, 2024. The API was originally scheduled to be phased out in November 2022, but the phase-out plan was temporarily shelved in November last year after strong protests from loyal customers and partners.

CTOnews.com Note: Outlook REST API is mainly used by developers to manage mailbox data, calendars, contacts, push notifications, etc. However, Microsoft has considered it an outdated product since 2020 and has been encouraging customers to migrate to Microsoft Graph.

For enterprises that rely heavily on Outlook REST API, Microsoft said it will further optimize the migration program, update and integrate legacy code, and ensure a smooth transition of related functions.
