CTOnews.com, Sept. 8, according to the latest report released by market research firm Gartner, it is estimated that global shipments of electric passenger vehicles (including pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids) will approach 15 million this year, and will reach 17.9 million next year, an increase of 19% over the same period last year.

Gartner says shipments of all electric vehicles, including cars, buses, trucks and heavy trucks, are 15.42 million; next year it will reach 18.45 million.

Gartner said shipments of pure electric vehicles (BEV) are expected to reach 11 million this year, up 22% from 9 million in 2022, while plug-in hybrid (PHEV) is expected to ship 4 million vehicles this year, compared with 3 million in 2022, an increase of 33%.
