CTOnews.com Sept. 7 news, Cui Dongshu, secretary general of the passenger Union, published an article through his personal official account this afternoon to analyze the new car launch characteristics of the current passenger car.

Cui Dongshu pointed out in the article that new energy vehicles have become the focus of the transformation of car companies, and the launch speed of new fuel vehicles has slowed down significantly, and the rhythm of pure electric vehicles surpassing that of fuel vehicles has been formed. The specific data are as follows:

New cars in 2020: 51 pure electric models, 59 fuel vehicles, 15 plug-in hybrids, 1 hydrogen power, a total of 126.

New cars in 2021: 52 pure electric models, 56 fuel vehicles, 18 plug-in hybrids, a total of 126.

New cars in 2022: 64 pure electric models, 56 fuel vehicles, 27 plug-in hybrids, 18 ordinary hybrids, 1 hydrogen-powered model and 1 diesel model, totaling 167.

2023 (as of August): 32 pure electric models, 25 fuel vehicles, 23 plug-ins, 12 ordinary hybrids, a total of 92.

According to the above data, the proportion of new fuel vehicles is showing a downward trend year by year. As of August of this year, the proportion of new fuel vehicles in all new cars has fallen to just over 1amp 4, from close to 1max 2 in 2020 and 2021, to nearly 1max 3 in 2022, and then to 2023.

In August this year, a total of 19 new cars were launched, of which 14 were owned brands, which are relatively large compared to the same period in previous years.

The CTOnews.com has previously reported that in its recent forecast, China will sell 8.5 million new energy passenger vehicles in 2023 and 23.5 million in a narrow sense, and the annual penetration rate of new energy vehicles is expected to reach 36 per cent.
