CTOnews.com, September 7 (Xinhua)-- BMW and Amazon have announced a partnership this week to promote the innovation of the next generation of models and develop the next generation of advanced driving assistance systems, according to an announcement from the news center of BMW Group's official website.

BMW will adopt Amazon's AWS service as the preferred cloud service provider for its driving assistance platform, using AWS's functions including cloud data center, computing, generative AI, Internet of things, machine learning and storage to accelerate the development and delivery of new BMW advanced driving assistance cars.

BMW said that after the partnership, BMW will also work with its partner Qualcomm to build a new intelligent driving platform based on Amazon AWS's "scalable, safe and reliable" infrastructure. In addition, from 2025, Qualcomm will provide BMW with advanced driving assistance technology based on the Snapdragon Ride platform.

As for the "next generation model" mentioned above, its concept car Vision Neue Klasse has made its debut at the Munich auto show. CTOnews.com previously reported that the car is based on the "Neue Klasse", the basic platform of BMW's next-generation electric vehicles, and that the first electric models based on this architecture will be put into production in 2025.

"Neue Klasse's design is typical of BMW," said Adrian van Hooydonk, head of BMW's design department. "it's so avant-garde that it looks like we just skipped the first-generation model." At the same time, officials have announced that its "fresh, elegant and timeless" design will be a symbol of the future Neue Klasse model, which will be launched in 2025-2027.
