CTOnews.com September 7 news, Ford today released a new electric crossover SUV-2024 Mustang Mach-E Rally. Inspired by rally cars, the car is designed to adapt to a variety of road conditions, with higher suspension and greater protection, and will be the most powerful Mustang Mach-E to date.

According to Ford, the Mustang Mach-E Rally will feature a dual-motor powertrain with a maximum power of at least 480 horsepower and a maximum torque of 650 pound-feet. By comparison, the Mach-E GT Performance Edition has 480 horsepower and 634 pound-feet. The new car uses the same 91 kWh battery pack as the other long-range Mustang Mach-E and comes standard with four-wheel drive. The car's EPA range is expected to be 250 miles (CTOnews.com notes: about 402.34 km). It also supports up to 150 kW DC fast charge function, which can charge from 10% to 80% in 36 minutes.

The Mustang Mach-E Rally will be the fastest Mustang Mach-E production model, and while Ford hasn't announced its acceleration time of 0-60 mph, Mustang Mach-E chief engineer Donna Dickson says the fastest GT Performance version currently can do that in 3.5 seconds. The Rally version will be faster and have better sustained acceleration.

The Rally version also adds a Rally Sport driving mode that allows the vehicle to have more sideslip and steering action before the electronic stability system intervenes, while providing more linear throttle response and new shock absorber tuning. The car is also equipped with 15-inch front brake discs and red Brembo calipers from GT and GT Performance versions. In addition, the car also added some protective devices to prevent damage to the motor.

From the outside, the Rally version is clearly different from other Mustang Mach-E models. 19-inch white rally-style aluminum alloy wheels are used to pay tribute to Ford's rally-racing history. The tyres are 235/55R19 Michelin CrossClimate2 all-weather tyres with higher sidewalls to provide greater stability and grip on loose roads. Thanks to new springs and larger tires, the Rally version is 0.7 inches taller than the Mach-E GT.

The new car has double racing stripes on the hood and LED fog lights on the front grille. Door cladding and fender arches are covered with protective film to help prevent rock strikes, and dealer-installed fenders will be available. The black roof is standard, and there are rear wings similar to Fox RS.

On the interior side, the Rally version uses white gloss panels, white contrast stitching and sports seats with the words "Mach-E Rally." The car also comes standard with Ford's BlueCruise driverless assistance system and offers a 90-day trial period.

The 2024 Mustang Mach-E Rally will go on sale in early 2024 for about $65,000 (currently about 476,000 yuan).
