According to the report, the entire Huawei brand experienced some recovery in the second quarter of this year-up 28% from a year earlier, an increase from loyal fans of Huawei in China and 4G users in the Middle East and other emerging markets.

TechInsights expects Huawei's smartphone to continue its "journey of recovery" this year, with shipments expected to reach 35 million units, up 36 per cent from a year earlier. By the end of this year, Huawei is expected to ship more than 1 million Mate 60 Pro models in China, an achievement that will surpass the previous generation of Mate 50 Pro models.

In addition, Huawei Mate 60 series models are expected to have a life cycle of two years, during which time shipments of the series models are expected to reach 50-6 million units.

Huawei has announced the full range of prices for Mate 60 Pro phones, starting at 5499 yuan for the standard version and 6499 yuan for the Pro version.

Previously, Tianfeng international analyst Guo Mingyi predicted that total shipments this year would increase 65% year-on-year to 38 million units. Looking forward to 2024, Huawei is expected to ship at least 60 million mobile phones, making it the strongest growth momentum among global mobile phone brands.

According to Guo, demand for Huawei's Mate 60 Pro has been strong since it went on sale on August 29, and shipments have risen by about 20 per cent in the second half of 2023 to 550-6 million units.

Compared with older models, it is clear that Huawei's demand for the Mate 60 Pro is significantly strong, it said. The Mate 50 Pro went on sale in September 2022, with cumulative shipments of 2.5 million units 12 months after launch. The Mate 40 Pro, which supports 5G, went on sale in October 2020, with cumulative shipments of about 6 million units 12 months after launch. By comparison, shipments of the Mate 60 Pro can reach 550-6 million units just four months after launch. Following this market trend, Huawei's cumulative shipments of the Mate 60 Pro are expected to reach at least 12 million units 12 months after its launch.
