CTOnews.com, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) Microsoft recently updated its official support document and announced that it would remove the 28-year-old WordPad app from Win10 / Win11, which triggered strong opposition from many users and left messages on Feedback Hub to express their dissatisfaction.

CTOnews.com queries related materials, and one of the views expressed by many users on Feedback Hub is that WordPad is the best application of RTF files and provides picture display functions that are not available in notepad. One user believes that the speed at which WordPad loads RTF files is unmatched by Microsoft Word.

One of the users said: "I often use the WordPad app to open RTF files because it loads faster than MS Word. Please add the WordPad app to Microsoft Store, just as Microsoft previously abandoned the drawing app and then updated it."

The WordPad application can be traced back to the Win95 system released in 1995. Since then, it has been one of the pre-installed applications of the Windows system to meet the basic document processing needs of users. In Win10 Build 19551, which was released in February 2020, users can check additional features to continue to use.
