Samsung said that thanks to Sanxing's eighth-generation 1Tb high-density NAND and excellent stacking technology, the 990 PRO ATB uses a single-sided M.2 design, so users do not have to worry about the inability to install dual-sided M.2 solid-state drives in their laptops or damage to other components caused by forced installation.

In terms of parameters, the 990PRO 4TB adopts the 8th generation V-NAND technology of three stars and the improved Samsung self-developed controller to make its performance close to the theoretical upper limit of PCIe 4.0. the sequential read speed is as high as 7450 MB/ S per second and the write speed is as high as 6900 MB/s.

The new version of 4TB also increases the speed of random reads and writes, up to 1600K and 1550K1OPS, respectively. Previously released 1TB / 2TB random read and write speeds were as high as 1400K and 1550K IOPS, respectively.
