CTOnews.com Sept. 7, Microsoft today released a KB5030316 update for Win11 for Windows Insider project members of the Beta channel, and after installation, the version numbers were upgraded to Build 22621.2271 and 22631.2271.

CTOnews.com quoted Microsoft official blog post as saying that Insider members of existing Win11 Build 22624 will receive a new enabler package and automatically upgrade to Build 22631 after installation.

Microsoft said that this enabling package is mainly used to enhance the version number and enable new features by default, which is convenient to distinguish from Build 22621 (which disables new features by default).

Users currently in Win11 Build 22621 can choose to switch to Build 22631 updates by installing the enabler package.

The adjustment of Win11 Build 22631.2271 is as follows: [Windows Ink] Win11 Build 22631.2050 preview version begins to introduce Windows Ink improvements, which can be handwritten directly in the editable area. However, it is temporarily disabled in the new preview version, and Microsoft says it will fix errors that affect the experience in the future.

The fix for Win11 Build 22631.2271 is as follows: [file Manager] fixed a file manager loading a folder, although the loading has been completed, it will still get stuck in the progress bar.

Fixed an issue where quick opening of two File Explorer windows could cause explorer.exe to crash.

Fixed an issue where navigating away from the home page could cause explorer.exe to crash.

Fixed an issue where an attempt to open a gallery after adding a new image might cause a crash.

The fix improved the startup performance of the file manager and fixed vulnerabilities that affected performance.

Fixed an issue where file explorer sorting changes were not retained.

Fixed an issue that might cause the icon in the File Explorer tab to be incorrect.

[Windows Copilot] fixed an issue where the Windows Copilot icon in the taskbar was flipped backward in right-to-left languages.

[input] fixed frequent ctfmon.exe crashes in recent versions, which may affect the typing ability of some members of the preview experience.

[settings] some work has been done to help improve the performance of using the new home page to open a preview to experience member settings.

[task Manager] fixed a crash when the Task Manager clicked "end Task" on the process details page.

[Dev Drive] fixed an issue where the folder path to be mounted could not be pasted into the dialog box when creating a new development drive.

[HDR wallpaper] fixed an issue with HDR wallpapers that occasionally led to explorer.exe crashes.
