CTOnews.com Sept. 7, Sony announced at the end of last month that it would increase the annual subscription price of PS Plus, which attracted criticism from many players, but industry analysts believe that Sony's move is quite beneficial to its own profits.

Sony officially launched the new price increase today, but CTOnews.com found that in addition to adjusting the annual subscription price, Sony also quietly adjusted the monthly and quarterly membership fee price, according to the PSN Hong Kong Service Store and Sony PlayStaton blog. The new price is as follows:

First PlayStation Plus Essential:1 month: HK $54 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about RMB 50), previous price HK $48 (currently about RMB 45)

3 months: 135 Hong Kong dollars (currently about 126 yuan), previous price 128 Hong Kong dollars (current about 119 yuan)

12 months: 425 Hong Kong dollars (currently about 396 yuan), previous price of 308 Hong Kong dollars (current about 287 yuan)

Second PlayStation Plus Extra:1 month: 80 Hong Kong dollars (currently about 75 yuan), the original price was 75 Hong Kong dollars (currently about 70 yuan)

3 months: HK $220 (currently about RMB 205), previous price HK $215 (currently about RMB 200)

12 months: 705 Hong Kong dollars (currently about 657 yuan), previous price 515 Hong Kong dollars (current about 480 yuan)

Three PlayStation Plus Premium:1 months: 95 Hong Kong dollars (currently about 89 yuan), before the original price of 85 Hong Kong dollars (currently about 79 yuan)

3 months: 250 Hong Kong dollars (currently about 233 yuan), previous price of 239 Hong Kong dollars (current about 223 yuan)

12 months: 820 Hong Kong dollars (currently about 764 yuan), previous price of 599 Hong Kong dollars (current about 558 yuan)

In an interview with foreign media Gamesindustry in June this year, Sony said that "PlayStation players are more willing to pay for the most prestigious (third-tier) PS Plus members." Nick Maguire, head of Sony's subscription business, said in an interview at the time, "PlayStation Plus's third member 'Premium' actually has a larger share than the second member' Extra', thus proving that PlayStation players are more willing to pay for the most expensive PlayStation Plus."

Adam Michel, director of Sony SIE content Purchasing and Operations, previously said to Sony's price adjustment: "this price adjustment will enable us to continue to bring high-quality games and more revenue to your PlayStation Plus subscription service."

According to previous reports from CTOnews.com, Sony PS Plus will waive games including "Mafia Saints" (PS4, PS5), "Black Desert Voyager" (PS5) and "Generation Zero" this month, which will be available from September 5 to October 2.
