Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens, soft media users 1520111, grass Luo Yuzi for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com, September 7 (Xinhua)-- after many delays, the Japanese H2A moon landing rocket was finally launched this morning to begin another exploration of the moon.

According to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), at around 08:42 local time on the 7th, the Japanese H2A rocket 47 was launched from the seed Island Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture, carrying the lunar probe "SLIM" and the X-ray astronomical satellite "XRISM".

Thirteen minutes after launch, the rocket successfully launched the X-ray astronomical satellite "XRISM" into 500km of Earth orbit. The main task of the satellite is to detect deep space X-rays and observe the astrophysical phenomena of high-energy particle jets produced by black holes formed by galaxy clusters.

At present, the small lunar lander (SLIM) has successfully entered the earth's large elliptical orbit, and then it will take 3 to 4 months to enter the lunar orbit, and it is expected to try to land on the moon from January to early February 2024. If successful, Japan will become the fifth country to land on the lunar surface after the United States, the Soviet Union, China and India.

As CTOnews.com previously reported, this is not the first time Japan has tried to land on the moon. In November last year, the Artemis-1 spacecraft of the United States was launched with a Japanese-made "hospitality" probe, but then disappeared, so it had to come to nothing.

In April this year, Japan's first commercial lunar lander developed by the Japanese company ispace once again challenged the moon landing and lost contact while trying to land, so it also failed.
