The long March 4C carrier rocket carrying out this launch mission is a normal temperature liquid three-stage carrier rocket developed by the eighth Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology Group. it has the ability to launch satellites of various types and different orbit requirements, and can carry out single-satellite or multi-star launch. its 700 km sun synchronous orbit has a carrying capacity of 3 tons.

The launch coincides with the 35th anniversary of the first flight of long four series rockets. On September 7, 1988, the long March 4A carrier rocket made its maiden flight and successfully launched the Fengyun-1 satellite, indicating that China has the ability to launch solar synchronous orbit satellites and officially began the space journey of the long four series of rockets.
