Guo Mingyi has previously said that Apple plans to deploy the self-developed 5G baseband on iPhone SE 4 first, and if successful, it will be used in the iPhone released in 2025 or 2026.

CTOnews.com previously reported that UBI Research researcher Dae-Jeong Yoon, Barclays analysts Blayne Curtis and Tom O'Malley all believed that Apple's self-developed 5G baseband encountered obstacles and could not meet Apple's expectations.

Apple has been planning its own modems since 2018 and acquired most of Intel's smartphone modem business in 2019 to strengthen this capability. However, Qualcomm is likely to continue as a supplier of modems to the new Apple iPhone SE and iPhone 16 series, according to the analysts.
