CTOnews.com Sept. 6, according to Reuters, the US Justice Department launched an antitrust investigation against Google, and three Apple executives, Eddy Cue, John Giannandrea and Adrian Perica, were involved and asked to testify in court.

CTOnews.com gives a brief account of the deal, and Google pays Apple billions of dollars a year to ensure that Google is the default search engine on Apple devices such as iPhone, iPad and Mac.

The investigation launched by the US Department of Justice is used to determine whether Google abused its position in the search industry and unfairly hindered competition. The Justice Department believes that although Apple executives are not parties to the case, their testimony is one of the core keys to moving forward with the case.

Apple believes that more than 125000 documents from executives have been disclosed, and there is no need for three Apple executives, Eddy Cue, John Giannandrea and Adrian Perica, to testify in court.

The positions of the three executives at Apple are as follows:

Eddy Cue is the senior vice president of services for Apple.

John Giannandrea is the company's senior vice president of machine learning and artificial intelligence strategy. Gianandrea, a former Google executive, led Google's intelligence, research and search team for eight years before joining Apple.

Adrian Perica is Apple's vice president of corporate development and oversees the "successful integration of key technologies and new businesses in terms of hardware, software and services."
