CTOnews.com, September 5 (Xinhua)-- A group of criminals in Lubbock, Texas, used a raspberry pie to bypass the security system of the ATM and carried out a series of thefts. According to local news media EverythingLubbock, the three criminals stole more than $5000 (CTOnews.com Note: about 36350 yuan) in cash from several ATM machines in West Texas.

The three criminals, Tuyuan Pixabay, were arrested on August 3, when police had evidence of their theft. They were caught in a hotel room with several raspberry pies and other evidence. EverythingLubbock said court documents showed that they used raspberry pie to shut down ATM's security system, thereby opening cash drawers, and it was not clear how they interfered with the ATM or cracked the security system.

The document also confirmed that the police witnessed the group steal more than $5700 in cash from an ATM, and found two raspberry pies in the thief's hotel room, but did not say which type of raspberry pie or how exactly it was used to bypass the security system.
