At the same time, Liang Dapeng, ZTE's director of bearing products and MKT programs, also delivered a keynote speech on "Intelligent IP + Ultra-wide all-Optical pedestal to build a New Network Infrastructure in the Computing era", sharing ZTE's innovative progress and application achievements in the field of IP base and all-optical base.
He said that through the three major upgrades of the IP base (bandwidth enhancement, agility enhancement, perception enhancement) and two upgrades of the all-optical base (increasing speed without reducing distance and broadening spectrum resources), ZTE will further consolidate the computing infrastructure, build a new network infrastructure in the computing era, and promote the vigorous development of the digital economy.
Liang Dapeng said that computing power is the core basic ability for the development of digital economy. According to the 2022-2023 Global Computing Power Index Evaluation report released by IDC, every 1 point increase in the computing power index will bring 3.6 ‰ digital economic growth. Specifically, the improvement of computing power index includes the improvement of computing power, computing efficiency, application level and infrastructure. If the first three items are compared to supercars, then the basic network infrastructure is the highway. High-performance "computing supercar" must be equipped with a flat and wide "information superhighway", and the corresponding basic network facilities are two solid transport capacity bases, namely, "intelligent IP capacity base" and "ultra-wide all-optical capacity base". Liang Dapeng pointed out:
"Intelligent IP capacity pedestal" can improve its ability in three aspects.
The first is the increase in bandwidth. In the computing era, all kinds of applications represented by East and West, East and West, and East and West training are booming. The real-time exchange of business traffic between large data centers in the east and west needs a larger directly connected bandwidth to meet the bearer requirements. Therefore, the introduction of 400GE port and the pace of commercial scale will be gradually accelerated. ZTE stand-alone high-capacity core router equipment and data center switches both support high-density 400GE ports and have the ability to smoothly evolve to 800GE, fully meeting the 20 times port bandwidth growth requirements of IP backbone network and data center network, and supporting cloud network evolution in the next 10 years.
The second is agile promotion. In the traditional way, the cloud and the network are independent of each other, and the IP / MPLS network needs to be launched in stages. It takes several weeks for the business to enter the cloud, and it is difficult to estimate the time for business visits and exchanges between the clouds. SRv6 technology has the advantage of jumping into the cloud to achieve end-to-end connection and reduce the opening time of business to the level of minutes. Up to now, ZTE has fully participated in and promoted the deployment practice of SRv6 technology, and has completed the pilot deployment of SRv6 / G-SRv6 / T-SRv6 in China Mobile, and completed commercial deployment in China Telecom Metro Cloud Network, CN2-DCI existing network and China Unicom intelligent metropolitan area network, supporting minute-level opening of new services and the realization of network programmable and intelligent visualization functions.
Finally, there is perceptual improvement. Data center resource nodes are distributed all over the country, so it is difficult to allocate and optimize these resources through a centralized management and control choreography system in the short term. The ZTE computing network integration scheme perceives and integrates ubiquitous computing resources by expanding network capabilities, promotes the flow of computing power among nodes, integrates local computing resources into global resources, and improves the utilization efficiency of computing resources. ZTE promoted the evolution of the network towards integrated computing awareness by introducing service identification to carry out protocol innovation, led the organization of 17 pre-research work on related standards, and contributed more than 15 proposals to IETF. The current network test results show that the network service-aware response speed reaches the 10ms level, and the response time is reduced by 80%.
Liang Dapeng said that in addition to the improvement of the capacity of the "intelligent IP capacity base", the "ultra-wide all-optical capacity base" should be further upgraded.
The "ultra-wide all-optical transport capacity base" realizes two major capability upgrades.
The first is to increase the speed without reducing the distance. The new service drives the upgrade of network bandwidth, and all the data is bound to converge on the optical network as a transmission artery. A large amount of data is transmitted from the eastern node to the western computing node, and then the calculation results are transmitted back to the eastern node, which means that the optical network needs to complete the traffic doubling transmission on the basis of maintaining the same transmission distance of thousands of kilometers as the existing network, that is, increasing the speed without reducing the distance. Through the use of 130G baud rate devices, leading 3D fusion packaging technology and FlexShaping2.0 proprietary algorithm, ZTE Real400G high-performance optical infrastructure scheme enables single-wave 400G to have the same transmission capacity as 100G / 200G, leading the industry in a number of existing network pilot projects, and increasing 400G transmission distance by more than 60%.
The second is the broadening of spectrum resources. After the single-wave performance is improved, it is necessary to further upgrade the system. When the spectrum efficiency reaches saturation, other means of capacity expansion need to be considered. The spectrum expansion from C-band 6THz to C-band 12THz is a good solution, which is similar to the highway widening from six lanes to twelve lanes. Through the technical innovation of three optical layers, namely, new doping amplifier design, background wave filling and multi-point APO self-tuning, ZTE has realized a simple cymbal L-band optical path system, which doubles the single fiber capacity to 96T.
"relying on the underlying core technology breakthroughs, ZTE IP and OTN products are based on advanced algorithms and system architecture to achieve continuous improvement of products and solutions." Liang Dapeng said. Up to now, ZTE's carrier products have been widely deployed in many countries and operators around the world. According to a report by Omdia, a well-known consulting firm, in the first quarter of 2023, the shipments of ZTE Optical Network's 400G long-haul ports grew first compared with the previous quarter; core routers had the first annual revenue growth rate and the top two market share growth compared with the previous quarter.
In the future, ZTE will also continue to work deeply in the field of computing, focusing on the intelligent IP base and ultra-wide all-optical base, working with partners to create an ultra-wide and agile bearing base, and strive to become the main force of green computing power, enabling the digital economy to achieve high-quality and sustainable development in the computing era.
