CTOnews.com, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) Hyundai Motor Co., Ltd. announced on Tuesday that it has overtaken China's Wuling Motor to become the leader in the Indonesian electric vehicle market in the first seven months of this year.

Between January and July this year, Hyundai sold 3913 electric vehicles in Indonesia, more than the 2028 sold in Southeast Asian countries in 2022, according to data.

Hyundai's share of the Indonesian electric car market has also increased sharply after a sharp increase in sales, accounting for 56.5 per cent of new electric vehicle sales in the first seven months of this year, up from 19.6 per cent in the same period last year.

According to reports, Hyundai's electric vehicle sales have increased from 3005 in 2021 to 31965 in 2022, while 20065 electric vehicles have been sold between January and July this year.

CTOnews.com found that Hyundai currently has seven factories in South Korea and 11 overseas, including four in China, one each in the United States, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Russia, India, Brazil and Indonesia, with a total production capacity of 5.65 million vehicles.
