CTOnews.com, September 5 (Xinhua)-- there is a current consensus in archaeological circles that human ancestors (including humans, African apes and their fossil ancestors) appeared in Africa 7 million years ago. Archaeologists have recently discovered 8.7 million-year-old human skulls, challenging the view that human and ape ancestors came from Africa, suggesting that human ancestors may have come from Europe.

Archaeologists have discovered a new skull in Turkey, a newly discovered ape, which the team named Anadoluvius turkae.

Scientists claim that skulls prove that hominids evolved in Western and Central Europe, where they spent more than 5 million years before migrating from the Mediterranean to Africa.
