According to CTOnews.com news on September 5, Ctrip Group announced its results for the second quarter and the first half of 2023. The net operating income in the second quarter was 11.2 billion yuan, an increase of 180% over the same period last year. Net profit was 648 million yuan, compared with 43 million yuan in the same period in 2022. The adjusted EBITDA was 3.7 billion yuan, and the profit margin was 33%. The net profit belonging to the shareholders of Ctrip Group was 631 million yuan, compared with 69 million yuan in the same period in 2022.

In terms of breakdown, the revenue from accommodation booking business in the second quarter was 4.3 billion yuan, up 216% from the same period last year; revenue from transportation and ticketing was 4.8 billion yuan, up 173% from the same period last year; operating income from tourism and vacation business was 722 million yuan, up 492% from the same period last year; business income from business and travel management business was 584 million yuan, up 178% from the same period last year; operating costs were 2 billion yuan, up 106% from the same period last year; and product R & D expenses were 3 billion yuan, up 67% from the same period last year. Sales and marketing expenses were 2.4 billion yuan, an increase of 185% over the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned from Ctrip's financial report that domestic hotel bookings increased by 170% year-on-year, more than 60% higher than in the same period before the 2019 epidemic; outbound hotel and air ticket bookings returned to more than 60% of the level of the same period before the 2019 epidemic, although the passenger volume of the international airline industry only returned to 37%; and air ticket bookings on the international OTA platform increased by more than 120% year on year, nearly double the level of the same period in 2019.
