CTOnews.com, September 4 (Xinhua)-- Apple has ordered fewer iPhone 15 than iPhone 14, which may be due to the expected weakness in the global smartphone market in the second half of 2023, according to DigiTimes. IPhone's supply chain is already preparing for the autumn release of iPhone 15, but may not produce as many devices as it did in 2022.

Smartphone makers are reportedly lowering their expectations for product demand and reducing production levels in the second half of 2023, which also applies to Apple and its new iPhone range of phones. Apple ordered 80 million to 90 million smartphones for the iPhone 15 series in the second half of 2023 in August, down from 90 million to 100 million in August for the iPhone 14 in the second half of 2022, according to senior analyst Luke Lin.

In the iPhone 15 series, iPhone 15 Pro Max has the largest share of orders, followed by iPhone 15 Pro, then iPhone 15, and finally iPhone 15 Plus.

Apple is also said to have adjusted orders for the iPhone 15 series among its assembly partners, and while Foxconn's orders for Pro models have declined overall, its production of standard iPhone 15 models will increase.

Lin said the prices of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus may not change much, but the price of the Pro model may rise because of some upgrades, including the conversion of the fuselage from stainless steel to titanium alloy and the periscope lens of the Pro Max model, according to CTOnews.com.
