CTOnews.com September 4 news, Volkswagen Group's Spanish car brand SEAT high-performance sub-brand Cupra recently exhibited at the Munich auto show a concept car called DarkRebel, a two-seater electric sports car, earlier this year online with Cupra Tavascan together, now for the first time in the form of a real car in front of the audience.

DarkRebel is 4.5 meters long (CTOnews.com note: slightly longer than Toyota GR Supra), 2.2 meters wide and 1.3 meters tall, and 2.2 meters tall when its two scissor doors are fully open upward. The concept car is electric, but no more technical details have been announced beyond that, as DarkRebel is primarily a design concept that demonstrates how creative the brand is with its angular design style.

Cupra DarkRebel features an exaggerated front design and sharp body lines that combine sports car and hunting car characteristics. The front of the new car uses a lot of aerodynamic design, exaggerated front shovel and sharp lines on the hood to create a radical sporty atmosphere.

Key design elements of the concept car include front and rear lights integrated into the body, and the new light pattern will become the future logo of Cupra. Like the Tavascan, the car is equipped with a glowing Cupra logo. The central part of the body mimics the shape of a speedboat and is surrounded by huge wings, diffusers, tail fins, heat dissipation and aerodynamic elements. The cockpit has a two-seater layout with bucket seats and a game-style steering wheel and display screen, and almost all cockpit interior functions are driver-centric. Interior materials are made from sustainable materials, including bamboo.

While the Cupra sports car isn't officially part of the company's future product line, company president Wayne Griffiths said at the Munich launch that the car is meant to "prove that the electric car of the future can be sporty, sexy and emotional."
