According to customs statistics, from January to July, China exported 80.32 million notebook computers, down 23.1 percent from the same period last year; 414 million mobile phones, down 11.8 percent from the same period last year; and 151.7 billion integrated circuits, down 8.3 percent from the same period last year.

From January to July, the production of China's electronic information manufacturing industry recovered steadily, the decline in exports narrowed, the efficiency fell slightly, and investment increased steadily.

Stable recovery of production

From January to July, the added value of the above-scale electronic information manufacturing industry increased by 0.1% compared with the same period last year, an increase of 0.1 percentage points over the first half of the year; the growth rate was 3.7% and 1.5 percentage points lower than that of industrial and high-tech manufacturing industries in the same period, respectively. In July, the added value of above-scale electronic information manufacturing industry increased by 0.7% compared with the same period last year.

The cumulative growth rate of electronic information manufacturing and industrial value added was from January to July. Among the main products, the output of mobile phones was 810 million, down 1.6 percent from the same period last year, of which 593 million were smartphones, down 7.9 percent from the same period last year. The output of microcomputer equipment was 189 million, down 24.4 percent from the same period last year, and the output of integrated circuits was 191.2 billion, down 3.9 percent from the same period last year.

From January to July, the export delivery value of electronic information manufacturing industries fell 8.3% compared with the same period last year, 0.9 percentage points lower than the first half of the year and 3.4 percentage points deeper than the industrial decline in the same period. In July, the export delivery value of the electronic information manufacturing industry fell 5.1% compared with the same period last year.

From January to July, the operating income of the electronic information manufacturing industry above scale reached 7.98 trillion yuan, down 3.8% from the same period last year, 0.4% lower than the first half of the year; the operating cost was 6.98 trillion yuan, down 3.3% from the same period last year; and the total profit was 276.3 billion yuan, down 26.4% from the same period last year. 1.2 percentage points deeper than the decline in the first half of the year The profit margin of operating income was 3.5%, down 0.1 percentage points from the first half of the year.

From January to July, fixed asset investment in the electronic information manufacturing industry grew by 9.8% compared with the same period last year, 1.3 percentage points higher than the industrial investment growth rate in the same period, but 1.7 percentage points lower than the high-tech manufacturing investment growth rate.
