CTOnews.com Sept. 3, Sony recently announced that the price of its PSN subscription PS Plus membership fee package will be increased. CTOnews.com has previously reported that since September 6, the annual renewal fee for each category of PS Plus has increased by about 30% (after the price increase is $79.99-$159.99).

After the news was announced, players generally criticized Sony, but Wall Street was quite optimistic about Sony's move. Sony's share price rose 3.21% the day before yesterday and remains relative.

Amit Garg, senior Japanese stock analyst at CLSA at ▲ Touyuan Circana data, said: "this PS Plus annual fee membership price increase will enable Sony to earn an extra $378 million a quarter (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 2.748 billion yuan), which does not include revenue from console games. This may also be an important signal that Sony may also adjust the prices of other services or products in the future."

In an interview with foreign media Gamesindustry in June this year, Sony said that "PlayStation players are more willing to pay for the most prestigious (third-tier) PS Plus members." Nick Maguire, head of Sony's subscription business, said in an interview at the time, "PlayStation Plus's third member 'Premium' actually has a larger share than the second member' Extra', thus proving that PlayStation players are more willing to pay for the most expensive PlayStation Plus."
