CTOnews.com, September 2, according to Counterpoint Research's latest global smartwatch tracking report, shipments of China's smartwatch market increased by 5% in the second quarter of 2023 compared with the same period last year, marking the gradual recovery of China's smartwatch.

Huawei's market share was 39%, compared with 26% in the same period last year, and shipments increased by 58% over the same period last year.

Bubugao (Little Genius) has a 21% market share, compared with 16% in the same period last year, and offline retail stores have contributed to the brand's growth.

Apple's market share was 13%, compared with 13% in the same period last year, and shipments fell 15% from a year earlier.

Xiaomi's market share was 8%, compared with 10% in the same period last year, and shipments fell 15% from a year earlier, up 7% from a month earlier.

OPPO's market share was 2%, compared with 2% in the same period last year, and shipments increased by 28% compared with the same period last year.

Although the Apple Watch Series 8 was the best-selling model in China this quarter, shipments fell 25 per cent compared with the previous Apple Watch Series 7 in the second quarter of 2022, Counterpoint said. With the new product expected to be released in the third quarter of 2023, Apple is likely to increase its market share in this quarter.
