The next lunar sunrise is expected to be September 22, and ISRO hopes the rover will be awakened and continue to operate normally, otherwise it will have to stay there forever as India's ambassador to the moon.

The lunar rover, called Pragyan, is powered by solar energy and is equipped with scientific instruments to record the composition of lunar soil and rocks.

After a successful soft landing at the south pole of the moon on August 23, the Indian "Lunar ship 3" lander released the lunar rover on the 24th and officially set foot on the lunar surface, starting its one-month-long scientific research work (about 14 earth days). In the image above, ChaSTE represents the Chandra surface thermophysical experiment, which is used to measure the thermal conductivity and temperature of the moon, while ILSA is the lunar seismicity instrument used to detect seismicity around the landing site.

ISRO's official website shows that the laser-induced breakdown spectrometer equipped with its lunar rover has been detected to "clearly confirm" the discovery. The lunar rover also detected a variety of other substances, including aluminum, iron, calcium, chromium, titanium, manganese, oxygen and silicon, and will then explore the existence of "water ice" at the moon's south pole.
