CTOnews.com, September 2, Microsoft announced today that the WordPad application in the Win10 / Win11 system has been inactive for a long time and will be removed through Windows updates in the future, but the official did not specify the effective time.

The WordPad application can be traced back to the Win95 system released in 1995. Since then, it has been one of the pre-installed applications of the Windows system to meet the basic document processing needs of users. In Win10 Build 19551, which was released in February 2020, users can check additional features to continue to use.

Microsoft recommends that users use Word instead of WordPad for text processing, while notepad is recommended for users who do not need rich text support.
